The plot follows Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a former soldier who managed to escape the now-decimated Korean Peninsula. Living in exile, he is offered a chance at a fortune if he returns to the quarantined wasteland to retrieve a truck filled with millions of dollars. His mission, however, goes horribly wrong, and he finds himself fighting not only against hordes of infected "fast zombies" but also against a rogue, desperate militia unit that has become worse than the infected themselves. Along the way, he joins forces with a resilient family of survivors who have carved out a precarious existence in the ruins.
